As the WCW Logo appears
on the screen Monday Nitro has finally returned. After the
Intro a highlight package is shown, showing the history of the
company. Pryo goes off in the ring and out comes Shane McMahon.
Tony Schiavone, Bobby Heenan and Mike Tenay are the
announcers. Shane welcomes us back to WCW and says that this
time its for good. Tonight we will begin a Tag Team Title
Tournament to form new Tag Team Champs. Shane says that WCW
owns the rights to the Cruiserweight, United States and World
Heavyweight Championships. He also announces that Booker
T and Rey Mysterio Jr. have already agreed to contracts with
WCW. And since WCW owns the World Title WWE Super Star
TRIPLE H himself will be on the show. This brings Triple
H out to the ring he says that he would wrestle fat women in
mud than wrestle in a 2nd Rate, B-Promotion like WCW.
Shane says that his opinion doesn't matter and tonight the
winner of a Battle Royal will Take him on, in 3 weeks at Fall
Brawl. Triple H laughs and tells Shane that all 30 men
together couldn't take the belt away from him. Nobody from WCW
would ever beat Triple H. Shane laughs right back at Hunter
and tells him not to be over confident because he isn't
"That damn good" anymore. Triple H,
sarcastically smiles, then hit Shane with the belt and
proceeds to beat him for a few minutes before posing on the
ropes. Security comes to the Ring and HHH Leaves.
Match 1: Tag Title Tourney
Raven & Vampiro def. Lance Storm & Mike Awesome
Storm had the match won, but Raven hit with Storm with a stop
sign then hit the Even Flow on the Stop Sign for the win.
In the Back Shane tells Gene
Okurland that tonight he wants Triple H in a street fight.
Match 2: Tag Title Tourney
The Steiner Brothers def. The Mamalukes
Scott Steiner made Big Vito submit to the Steiner
Recliner.

Match 3:
Billy Kidman def. Kid Romeo
Kidman hit the Shooting Star Press
Mean Gene interviews Sting in
the Back
Sting tells Gene how good it is to be Back and running with
the world's best wrestling company. Sting says that he is
gonna do all that he can to win tonight's battle royal and
take the title from Triple H.
Match 4:
Shane Douglas def. DDP
Shane hit DDP with some Brass Knucks and hit the
Franchiser for the win.
Roddy Piper comes out to the
ring for Piper's Pit and says that he has 3 guests for
tonight's show. The Wolfpac music hits, the crowd goes
nuts, and out comes Kevin Nash, Scott Hall and Syxx Pac. The
three of them talk about wanting to have fun and they aren't
in it for the money anymore and say that their goal for now is
for the Outsiders to win Tag Team gold one more time, and for
Syxx Pac to get another crack at the Cruiserweight Title.
Match 5:
Triple H def Shane McMahon
These guys fought all over the arena and Shane gave Hunter
all he had but in the end Triple H was to much and hit the
Pedigree in the concourse area for the pinfall victory.
Match 6: Battle Royal for a shot at Title
Sting def. 19 other superstars
Sting outlasted 19 other wrestlers in one of the most
exiting main events in Nitro history. Sting, Goldberg,
Scott Steiner and Booker T were the last 4 in the ring.
Steiner took out Booker T. when his brother Rick came out and
pulled down the top rope allowing Scott to hit him with a
clothesline and knock him out. Goldberg and Sting then double
drop kicked Big Poppa Pump over the top. Sting and Goldberg
then shook hands, smiled and got it on. These guys went
at it for about 10 minutes and finally after Goldberg missed a
spear in the corner, Sting rebounded and hit Goldberg with a
clothesline to eliminate him. Sting won the match but
the celebration was short lived. Triple H, along with WWE
Superstars Bautista and Ric Flair came out and attacked the
Franchise of WCW. The three of them completely
man-handled the Stinger and Goldberg until the Wolfpac came to
the ring. The announcers and fans all expected them to
join in on the beat down. But instead they attacked the WWE
Superstars clearing the ring, and then helping Goldberg and
Sting to their feet.
